To support serial port redirection, your VMware Horizon deployment must meet certain software and hardware requirements. The product comes with a rich developer API that provides easy integration with your solutions. With the serial port redirection feature, end users can redirect locally connected serial (COM) ports, such as built-in RS232 ports or USB to Serial adapters, to their remote desktops and published applications. Free Remote Serial Ports is a COM ports redirecting freeware utility which allows you to share any serial port and access it remotely using LAN or Internet connection.

Software-based virtual Com ports and hardware ports on Serial Device Servers are also supported. Our virtualization technology supports all types of ports, including PnP and legacy RS232/422/485 serial ports, USB serial ports created by various USB-to-Serial converters and adapter cables.
